Imran Rahman is the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB). Prior to joining ULAB, Imran taught finance at the Institute of Business Administration, University of Dhaka for twenty-two years. In 1994, he co-founded and led a merchant bank for six years. He served as an independent director in two public limited finance companies.
He works closely with the US Embassy Dhaka in managing the EMK Center for Public Affairs and the Arts, which is a US-funded ULAB project. He is a director of the Foundation for Learning, Teaching and Research (fLTR), which aims to improve the capacity and quality of teaching and research in universities.
Imran studied at the Manchester Business School, University of Dhaka and the London School of Economics. He is a singer and guitarist with Renaissance, one of the oldest musical bands of Bangladesh.
