About Teach For Bangladesh

Teach For Bangladesh (TFB) believes that every child in Bangladesh – regardless of socio-economic circumstance – deserves the opportunity for an excellent education. Our mission is to launch a movement of capable, committed, and compassionate leaders who share an understanding of inequity and are working tirelessly inside and outside the nation’s classrooms to end it.

Our Fellowship program enlists highly talented graduates to spend two years teaching in low-income schools. During that time, we train and support Fellows as they expand the academic achievement, access, and aspirations of their students. The program also prepares Fellows to become lifelong leaders who will spearhead systemic change across a diverse array of sectors in Bangladesh.

Position Summary

‘Winter Academy’ is a six-week intensive training program designed to equip our Fellows with the knowledge, skills, and mindsets that they will need before they begin teaching full time in January. This year’s Academy, starting in October, will be for the incoming batch of Teach For Bangladesh Fellows. The purpose of Winter Academy is to initiate Fellows into the two-year leadership development program, invest them in the mission, vision, and values of Teach For Bangladesh, and prepare Fellows to work as highly effective leaders when they assume full-time teaching responsibilities in primary school classrooms from January 2026. During the training, the Fellows’ time is spread between attending workshop-style training sessions, teaching practice in local Government Primary Schools, and participating in community visits.

Academy Fellow Advisors are directly responsible for developing and supporting Fellows during the Academy. They serve as coaches for a group of 17-20 Fellows and regularly monitor both pedagogical performance and leadership growth through observation-debrief cycles, weekly check-ins, and reflection. As the first point of contact between Fellows and the organization, they are responsible for cultivating a strong and productive relationship and providing personalized support both in technical skills and building leadership mindset. Academy Fellow Advisors will also be responsible for the planning and facilitating training sessions, social activities, and experiential learning activities at the Academy. The Fellow Advisor role is a really exciting opportunity for a candidate who is inspired by developing and coaching young and inspirational leaders. A candidate in this role will have a significant and long term impact on the development of the individuals on the Fellowship.
