Teach For Bangladesh is looking for our country’s most promising leaders to take on the challenge of rebuilding our nation.

The Teach For Bangladesh (TFB) Fellowship is a one-of-a-kind program in Bangladesh for our country’s most promising leaders to take on the challenge of reshaping our education system. Every year, we have a limited number of spots available in the program, and usually less than 5% of our applicants get selected for the Fellowship. Successful candidates typically demonstrate a track record of academic excellence, leadership, alignment with our mission, strong critical thinking skills, and the ability to persevere in the face of challenges. They also exhibit empathy towards others, and a commitment to understanding those who are different to them. Perhaps most importantly, successful candidates show us that they are self-reflective, eager to learn and to challenge themselves. Candidates must also be highly proficient in both Bangla and English.

Admissions Process

Teach For Bangladesh follows a rigorous 5-step admissions process that begins with a registration of interest and concludes with a daylong assessment center.

The Fellowship admission process consists of the following steps below:

The first step is to fill out a quick online registration form to indicate your interest. This allows us to keep you up to date on application deadlines, events, and other important resources. Register your interest in the Fellowship program here.
After registration you will receive an email with the full application form link and a unique registration number. You have to open the form using your registration number and you can save the online form using your email address and a password. The detailed application form is a great way to showcase your previous experience and your interest in Teach For Bangladesh. We highly recommend our candidates to spend at least 3-4 hours on writing a strong application for the Fellowship.
Applicants who are shortlisted from the previous stage are invited to take an online written test. This test generally takes about 40 minutes and is divided into 2 segments. The first segment includes multiple choice questions and the second segment includes 2 open-ended questions, one in English and one in Bangla. There is no prior preparation needed for this.
The phone interview typically lasts 20-30 minutes and is an opportunity for you to speak with someone from Teach For Bangladesh about your experiences. Be prepared to answer questions about your application.

You will be notified about your updated application status 2-3 working days after your phone interview. If your application gets accepted for the final stage of the selection process, you will be invited to attend an Assessment Center.
The final stage is a day long assessment center where you will be asked to participate in activities like teaching a sample lesson, participating in a group activity, and an hour-long one-on-one interview.

Teach For Bangladesh provides support to prepare for this assessment center through a virtual preparatory call, where you can get clarity on what to expect from the day as well as ask any questions that you might have.

Read our application guidelines before starting your application. Note that we have a zero-tolerance policy towards plagiarism so please make sure that all responses on this form are your original work. Please note that we will match your work with our database of all applications received till date and if there is any similarity in the content, both applicants will be penalized.

The Fellowship is a leadership development program for outstanding university graduates and young professionals who are looking for a personal and professional challenge while working to end educational inequity in Bangladesh. Fellows work full-time for two years as teachers in low-income schools across Dhaka and Chattogram. During the Fellowship, they also take weekly courses to complete a diploma in Educational Leadership, Planning, and Management through the BRAC Institute of Educational Development, which strengthens their understanding of the landscape of education in our country.
Teach For Bangladesh is looking for leaders who are willing to commit to long-term change and have the tenacity to work hard in challenging situations – skills that top employers also value highly. The two-year commitment is necessary for the program to be truly transformational for you and your students. During the first year, you will refine your teaching skills and establish respect and trust within the school community. Laying this groundwork will allow you to achieve students’ academic gains and implement your end-of-year Capstone advocacy project in the second year successfully .
The Fellowship is designed to prepare you to excel in any field you choose, as you develop transferrable skills during this period. The challenge involved in completing the two-year Fellowship makes you a self-aware leader. The Fellowship offers the following:
1. Opportunity to lead a global movement and bring about significant change
2. Professional training and support
3. Opportunities for networking and career development
4. International learning opportunities through the Teach For All network
5. Local and international graduate school tie-ups
6. Ever expanding network of corporate tie-ups
You will teach core subjects like English, Bengali, Mathematics, Science, and Social science in urban schools that serve underserved children in Dhaka and Chattogram and Cox’s bazar.
Fellows are required to be highly proficient in spoken and written English. Low-income schools lag furthest behind in English scores, and English language instruction is one of the main focal points of our work in these schools. In addition, the majority of training and support Teach For Bangladesh provides to Fellows will be in English.
Fellows will be given a monthly stipend of 32,000 BDT during the program.
There are several ways you can still get involved with the movement. We have internships and available for those who want to be directly involved, as well as Campus Ambassador programs that allow students to represent Teach for Bangladesh on their college campuses. Check out our Careers page to check available opportunities, or send us an email at info@teachforbangladesh.org to get more information.
The applicants are selected via a rigorous selection process that starts with the application form and concludes with an Assessment Center. Please refer to the above section for the detailed admission process.

Yes. Excellent teachers employ the same skills as excellent leaders in any field. Spending two years managing a classroom will help Fellows develop leadership skills such as management, organization, and communication which are valuable in any sector. Teach For Bangladesh will work with Fellows throughout the two-year Fellowship to ensure that they take advantage of the experience to become extraordinary leaders.
Fellows are required to be highly proficient in Bangla as most of our partner schools are government-run and follow a Bangla-medium curriculum. That’s why Fellows must be comfortable reading, speaking, and writing Bangla. While limited placements are available to teach English-medium curriculum Fellows working in these schools must still have strong oral communication skills in Bangla to interact effectively with students, parents, and other faculties.
Yes. Teach For Bangladesh will administer extensive training to ensure that all Fellows have the knowledge and skills necessary to lead their students to significant academic gains in the classroom. Prior to beginning their teaching assignment in January, all Fellows will attend a mandatory six-week residential training course from the end of October to early November, known as Winter Academy. The Winter Academy is designed to help Fellows acquire essential teaching frameworks, curricula, and lesson planning skills. Fellows will student-teach and work with veteran teachers who will observe and coach them to improve their skills. Teach For Bangladesh also provides intensive one-on-one and group support to Fellows during the course of their Fellowship. In most cases, each Fellow will be placed with at least one other Fellow in their placement school. Teach For Bangladesh will work to create spaces and opportunities for peer-to-peer collaboration both within Teach For Bangladesh and with other participants in partner programs across the Teach For All global network.
