Position Summary

At Teach For Bangladesh, we believe that every child, regardless of socio-economic background, deserves the opportunity for an excellent education. Through our two-year Fellowship and the growing number of alumni who complete our program, we are building a movement of leaders with the knowledge, mindsets, and skills to drive our educational system toward greater equity for all children. We are looking for a driven Director, Human Resources & Operations who will build out and own a high-performing function within the organization, grounded in our core values and driven by our vision, establishing Teach For Bangladesh as an employer of choice in Bangladesh.

Reporting to the CEO, the Director, Operations & Human Resources will lead the organization’s operational activities such as looking after Regional Operations, Government Relations, Events Management, Vendor Management and relevant Logistics. S/he will work to strengthen Teach For Bangladesh’s talent management and strategy by owning the organizational life cycle for staff with relevant processes for hiring, staff onboarding, performance review, staff wellbeing, database maintenance, and staff offboarding. At the same time, the Director, Operations & Human Resources will support senior management in building strong staff engagement and organizational culture that supports a high-impact work environment. Major Responsibilities

Operations

• Collaborate closely with the CEO and the Senior Leadership Team members to ensure that appropriate policies and processes are in place to ensure organizational efficiency, and risk mitigation, managing their revision, arrange training, tracking compliance. 
• Project manage and work with the Program team to design and execute different external events. 
• Support in creating and executing strong action plans to invest in different government stakeholders to build champions of Teach For Bangladesh.
• Support in preparing and submitting documents for maintaining relationships with government stakeholders to ensure that all reports are submitted in a timely manner and ensure receiving approvals and certifications on time.
• Supervise the procurement and maintenance of permanent and temporary facilities, including TFB national and regional offices, spaces for events, training, Fellow professional development, Winter Academy, etc. 
• Identify the needs of regional spaces and get necessary approvals for any shifts, changes and procurements.
• Oversee the effective, timely and cost efficient procurement of collateral, supplies, materials, equipment and capital assets.
• Manage strategic high-stakes events, and liaise with other teams to ensure that TFB events are planned and executed to a high standard of excellence.
• Ensure that all materials, equipment and capital assets are used, stored and maintained appropriately. 
• Oversee strategic plans for the TFB website and media communications team in alignment with organizational objectives.
• Hire, train and manage full-time, part-time, permanent and temporary support staff including drivers, janitorial and groundskeeping staff, office security etc. 
• Oversee technology systems and infrastructure, including maintaining TFB’s website, managing software and hardware needs for teams and projects. 
• Build and manage an efficient, high-performing, and values-oriented team as well as collaborate effectively with other functions in order to deliver on outcomes.

Human Resources

• Lead the hiring activities by designing social media campaigns, building a pipeline of potential candidates for different roles, designing the interview process, competency mapping, creating technical rounds and questions in discussion with hiring managers.
• Lead the overall hiring process such as shortlisting candidates, conducting first round of interviews, reviewing technical rounds, and managing final interviews.
• Own the staff onboarding process by managing the staff onboarding tracker, preparing welcome emails, setting up communication channels and managing approvals from relevant stakeholders for any required procurement.
• Facilitate new staff HR onboarding training and review and update all the HR onboarding contents on a quarterly basis.
• Ensure 100% staff went through feedback and performance review process by coordinating with relevant team leads on a quarterly basis.
• Prepare and issue staff-Fellow documents in alignment with the line manager and Finance team.
• Manage overall HR Database system, review and check associated folders from time to time to ensure 100% documents are uploaded.
• Draft organizational policies, norms and update HR resources with necessary changes in policies with the consultation of the senior leadership team.
• Oversee the offboarding process and provide support when required.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a reputable local or foreign university is required
• Postgraduate degree in a related field is preferred but not essential

Language Requirements 

Exceptional fluency in writing and speaking both in Bangla and English is essential for this role

Preferred Experience

8-10 years of working experience in the related field is preferred

Compensation and Benefits 

Salary is competitive in the Bangladeshi context. Benefits include festival bonus (2 per year), medical insurance, 24 days of annual leave (accrued over a year), 8 days of sick leave, and opportunities for training and travel (see below). Information for non-Bangladeshi candidates
